XC 70 - 2001 Hiccups and misses V70-XC70 2001

When driving at speed, 60, 65 70 mph, my 2001 XC70 has a slight miss with no real drop in RPM. Just a slight hiccup. Car accelerates fine, shifts fine, starts OK. When coming to a stop, the rpm drops and then recovers to 750 at idle and is steady. Anyone experience this symptom? Car has 180,000 miles on the clock was thinking it might be the ETM. Giving it a tune up this weekend to cover the basics.

I suggest you remove the ETM and clean the throttle body and the pedal position sensor.

      XC 70 - 2001 Hiccups and misses - XeMODeX Solved V70-XC70 2001

KlausC, thanks for the suggestion. I decided to go for a XEMODEX rebuild since the ETM had to be removed for cleaning. Sent the ETM off to XEMODEX and problems completely solved. Excellent turn-a-round time of 1 week door to door. Report from XEMODEX showed a failure but honestly I have to reach out to them to fully understand the test graph.

      - Problem with hiccups and miss at speed is completely gone
      - Problem with the RPM dropping down when coming to a stop is also gone
      - Previously I would notice the car would launch faster than the amount of gas pedal movement would indicate. Now much smoother launch from a stop.

Good result and based on XEMODEX rebuild and service am very happy. And they threw in a hat to boot.
