Anyone know a source for the rubber gasket or trim that runs up the sides of the windshield and tapers off inside the rain gutter? I just bought a 2004 V70 (newest car I've ever owned!) and that piece (or pieces) is brittle and falling apart. The Volvo dealer can't help and I'm not having any luck with google. Thanks in advance.

Just doing errands so I swung by an auto glass shop and a Volvo dealer because the black part on mine is crumbling too..

1) The glassman showed me how the black trim includes the body colored part "against" the windshield.
You can see, if you gently roll the moulding, that it's all one piece.

2) The Volvo parts desk tells me it's a discontinued part.

3) Turns out one of mine is very loose so I'm going to squirt some G.E. silicone clear under it.

I asked about the '07's front, lower control arms too but that'll be for another thread new or old.

Your best bet is a pick&pull. That trim pulls away from the A pillar, start at the base of the windshield, but be very careful not to bend it.

If you have roof rails, that piece ends just under the rail.

that explains a lot - thanks! I'll check the pick&pull. Funny nobody has made repos - there are so many V70's on the road.

They're too hard to pack and ship. Besides, they have color. Remember, once bent, they go in the garbage.
