Chloe 1 & 3 misfire V70-XC70 2004

My '04 V70 started having cyl 1 & 3 misfire fault codes during periods of high ambient temps. Which component(s) are the most probable culprits? The misfires seem to only occur at startup & only last a few seconds. Is there a component common to only 1 & 3? Thanks.
Marlin

Swapping coils & new plugs did not solve the cylinder 1 & 3 misfire. Will leaky injectors cause this?

My first thought was coils too, but then did this searching for you

Can swap injectors too

I did some searches but didn't see this one. Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Do you wrench? This check is real easy to do.

Each spark plug has its own spark coil. Were the codes P0301 and P0303? The last digit designates the cylinder number.

Open the engine's top cover and mark the coils 1-2-3-4-5 starting at the accessory end (left side as viewed from the front of the car).

Swap coils 1+2. Then swap coils 3+4. A small set screw (10mm) and unplugging is all that's required to remove a coil.

Put the cover back on and drive it. Then check to see if the misfire codes change to P0302 and P0304.

If that happens you have determined the source of your misfires are 2 bad coils.

Let us know what you do about this and how it turns out.
