I cannot open the hood

I pull the hood release handle but it pops only on the left side.
I'm able to pull the small black handle in the center of the grille
but the right side is always locked.

Any suggestions ?

    I think that Volvospeed has instructions for removing the grill from your car with the hood closed.

    I did that on one of our 850s, then turned all 6 clips to the same side to make the job easier.

    If I remember correctly, there are 6 clips that are relatively small and only have to be pushed a half inch or so to remove them. You may have to remove the air guard to get at them.

      Removing the grill does not expose the release cable.

      The last resort option for me would be to pull the right turn signal out, destroying the retaining spring. That exposes the bottom of the latch and a long screwdriver can be used to push the lever the cable is supposed to pull.

        I've finally opened it.

        I've tried to unlatch by pulling the right turn signal out as per your suggestion, but I never been able to reach the latch lever for somehow.

        I've unlatched it by lifting the left side of the hood by 4 to 5" and I used a 1/2"dia 4ft long wood rod with a small right angle bracket fixed at the end.

        I used a very bright mini LED flashlight since it was very tight underneath
        to see and to maneuver. It hasn't been easy but I've finally did it !

        I have to replace the center cable, it's broken at one end

    Have a friend push down on the right side of the hood as you pull the cable, and then try to lift it with the cable still pulled.
