Two coolants V70-XC70

A friend gave me some Volvo coolant: Two different bottles, two different #'s. Both 2/3 full. # 31449821 and 9434699-6. I know that I've used 31439821 in my '06, but not sure what the other anti freeze is (the gift giver is not available to answer these questions). Any clue? I did a search for the 943....-6, but didn't show anything. Are they compatible? ALSO...is there any way to know if he mixed them already with H2O or if they are still full concentrate?

Take a small amount (1/4 cup?) of one of the coolants and mix an equal amount of distilled water with it. Stir. Test the mixture for protection level. If it shows that it will protect to way below 0 then the coolant likely WASN'T thinned in the first place. If shows protection to barely below freezing then it likely WAS already thinned.

      This is a "tack-on" question.
Were they both blue? I ask because the coolant in my '07 is a pale green color. The jockey who worked on my car said, "Volvo is going to green now".

What does that mean? He wasn't the guy to ask.

Is Volvo coolant still dark blue.

That all depends on how badly one is color blind. My coolant is green-ish on my 1995 850. Same color on my 1998 V70.

    Same stuff, just different numbers.
