Upper Mount and brace V70-XC70 2006

Poking around I saw a dude had installed poly bushings on his strut brace. Being new to this model, I checked my own and have a very loose wobbly condition on the brace and upper mount. That can't be right ;) So, parts and jobs look easy. I might not want poly. So OE Strut Mount Braces L&R -8666205 and Torque Rod Mount -30680770 Anything else? Don't know condition of the rest of the mounts, but also don't have symptoms (small vibe at idle) Thanks!!

I believe the wobbly thing you called a strut brace is an engine mount brace (or some such). It's there-with the large link- to force the engine downward in the event of a severe crash.

A true strut brace uses the 3 strut mount nuts to affix. You don't have one of those in your car.

Stiffening the engine brace might get you some of the effect of a strut brace.

Pretty sure I'm right.

That's good info, thanks. So that's a third function for the strut bar. (that's the name for it) -Top engine mount stabilization on bar and not firewall. -Body/suspension rigidity (even though not bolted to strut tops) -Safety function that you described. That's cool. I'll take it.

The other side is 8666204. Get Hutchinson, probably OE.
