Searching for OEM Part No. 1346646 - Buffer 850 1996

Unsurprisingly, parts are perishing on my R. The latest, just after a left rear brake pipe dangerously rubbed through on a transverse link/support arm, was the crude attachment of the air inlet snout to the so-called front section. Parts are getting harder and harder to find; this one is NLA (No Longer Available) anywhere I have so far tried.
In an attempt to keep him original, I really don't want to have to resort to a cable tie, the most often suggested fix for most things lately.
Any suggestions as to where I might find one of these 1346646 buffers would be gratefully appreciated.
The image () shows the part re-assembled; it is torn.

I think your only bet is to look in salvage yards. Even cars with the engine removed, as no one wants to take the plastic intake in the radiator support.

I agree, the zip tie looks pretty cheezy.

Thank you for your helpful suggestions KlausC. We used to have a dismantler in my state called Pick 'n' Pay Less but they have no Volvos ATM and, thus far, I have neither been able to locate any suitable donors being wrecked using the www nor contacts established over decades of Volvo ownership. I am not sure where our exhausted Volvos end up. Perhaps, being so well engineered, they are all still on the road? To begin with, we are a very small market in the grand scheme of things. Anyway, the search goes on...
Once the improvising parts I have ordered locally as well as from China arrive, I shall post more feedback regarding their suitability.

Consider yourself lucky. 850 1996

Yes, parts a disappearing from inventory never to be replaced but i can say with confidence Volvo is way WAY ahead of Audi on having parts for a 1996. We are lucky to have chosen Volvo back in the mid 90s. Really - we are lucky. I suspect the new MBA's for all the car companies focus on not having parts available for very long, so I'm not saying buying a new Volvo will be a bowl of cherries.

Rman, that part is for a 960. My 1995 855T has no part similar to what you show, all of the air intake is plastic that is press fitted together.
