KlausC,
Glad to see you back! I especially have been missing you, and your wealth of information!
Ok, so here goes.
Fuse 11B/5 (Fuse 5) powers relay 2/22 which turns on the a/c compressor.
If the key is in POS-II and you pull Fuse 5, the ECU powers pin 2 of the 2/22 relay, and somehow, don't ask me how shows up at pin 1 of 2/22 relay, which then leads back to fuse 5.
Any ways this is all behind me now as I'm making progress in fixing my initial problem.
So yesterday I had the following all disconnected in an attempt to find this problem, or what I finally realized wasn't a problem, but my inability to use my multi-meter correctly, but this will not happen again! Any ways, here is a list of everything that got disconnected, and then reconnected as I checked the voltage at the EVAP canister purge solenoid connection:
SAS pump,
Cruise control,
downstream/upstream O2 sensors,
CAM shaft position sensor,
crankshaft position sensor,
throttle position sensor,
MAF,
EVAP canister purge solenoid,
Idle air control valve,
coil connection,
fuel evaporation shutoff valve,
all the relays (that are easily accessible), and
all the fuses.
Upon finally putting the car all back together and feeling rather frustrated I took the car for about a 20 minute spin.
Much to my surprise, the P0172, P03XY (misfire codes), P0444 codes did not come back. However I got a pending P0410 code even though the SAS Pump ran.
In fact, I started the car cold this morning and within a minute or so the pump kicked in and started running.
Any ways, I took the car for another just about a half hour ago, and the CEL finally came on, but only for P0410. I have no other codes coming up and I have very good vacuum back at the FPR!
So, somehow, my initial issue is now resolved, and I have a new one, which I believe will be alot easier to address/fix as I think it will be just replacing the SAS pump and calling it done.
The car is still going in on Monday night to be looked at on Tuesday, however, now instead of them fixing something, I really just want them to go over the car and tell me what they believe needs addressed. Then I'll be able to knock things off one at a time and really feel confident in the car again.
Any thoughts from your end on this P0410, or on the fact that my initial P0172/P03XY/P0444 are no longer an issue?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
