Happy Thanksgiving! My son's 2002 V70 wagon (250K miles) has its ABS light come on occasionally. I remember from my old '97 850, that this meant the ABS module needed to be replaced. Any other thoughts?

Try Midwest ABS for refurbishing of the ABS module. They can help with figuring out whether it is your module or if you should be looking elsewhere. There is a high failure rate on those modules.

There are several things that could cause a light - a bad connection, a dirty wheel sensor, etc.

Does your car do an ABS check when it hits 15 mph like 850s do? Check your owners manual.

When the light is off, does the anti-lock work?

Does the light come on when you hit a bump?

I would not replace the module unless some troubleshooting has ben done.

When I had an ABS light problem, they checked the wheel sensors, under the dash on the driver's side, and in the trunk.

Yes, the cause is often dirty/rusty ABS wheel sensors. I would check those before doing anything else. They can be cleaned.
