Are all these parts typically replaced along with belt?

idler roller
belt tensioner
water pump coupling
pulley
a/c clutch
??

3.2L I6? My wife's Volvo is an '08 V70. Love that car.

I'd like a pic of that end of the engine with the belt exposed. Would you also replace the alternator coupler?

The tensioner roller should be inspected for wear, as well as the idler roller. Most of us would find them in good shape and only replace the belt. The rollers should be good for 200K miles or so.

I'm in the middle of this job right now, at about 153,000 miles. The old tensioner bearing seems good, the idler shows a bit of wear. I'd agree with Klaus on the bearings, but I'd definitely replace the water pump. (I just did.)

I just had a tensioner failure (seized) and was quite a mess. Replaced the tensioner, roller and of course the belt which was more or less shredded and had to be cut out. This with 95,000 km on the car (08 XC70). With only 95k, I did not replace the water pump. Maybe I should have but bill was high enough.

These parts are very difficult to get to so at least do a good inspection. I would likely replace what I could while in there especially if higher miles

I don't know about the more recent models, but through our 2005, there is no need to replace anything but the belt unless you suspect problems with the specific item.
