Replacing Rear Side Marker Lights on S40 S40-V40 2003

Anyone do this before? I am not sure how to approach it, to get access to the light assembly. From the trunk or under the car? Can the bulb be replaced or only the whole assembly? If the wiring has to be parted, can the connector be re-used? Thanks for whatever anyone can shed on this. Not a deal breaker, but would like to have every last item on the car working. Thanks, Doug

The owners manual should show how to replace the bulb.

Edit: Go oh 90-91

Replacing Rear Side Marker Lights on S40 S40-V40 2003

I know how to replace bulbs for the front lighting systems, I was interested in any tips on how to replace the lighting assembly or if possible, only the bulb in either of the rear bumper side markers. Can anyone help? I am looking into it elsewhere as well. Thanks! Doug

Just like the front. Push it rearward and pull up. Or, do it the hard way:

It appears to me that the 2003 has the same type of side market lights on both the front and rear bumpers. The manual that I linked shows how to open it up. See page 90.
