    testing maf sensor

First, never unplug/plug in the MAF sensor while the engine is running.

An unplugged MAF will still allow the engine to start and run nicely. The computer will assume default conditions. What is supposed to happen is the engine will run rough at higher throttle inputs, making driving almost impossible.

If the MAF is unplugged or not functioning, the fuel:air ratio becomes fuel rich. The spark plugs foul and no longer deliver a spark. To say nothing about unburned gasoline washing the rings or ruining the cat converter.

Keeping it running is better than buying new
