Motor mount replacement C70

Has anyone done their motor mounts? My car is a 2001 C70 T5M. I got the right side one in, but it was easy access. The front and rear look hellish. I can't even see the nuts on the top of the mounts, let alone reach them. Is there a special trick, or even an SVO tool to do these without losing an arm or my sanity? Thanks!
Rob

You are asking about the two hydraulic mounts on either side of the engine? No special tools for the top bolts. A mirror is needed for the rear bolt, the engine fan comes out for the front upper bolt. The engine will need to be raised a couple of inches to remove the mount and install new ones. Not a 'fun' job.

Thanks, Klaus. So I did this job last night and you're right- not fun. It was brutal. doing it in a heat wave didn't help, either. Some observations, for those thinking of doing this. You need a 15 mm swivel socket. No other socket/u-joint combo will work. There is simply not enough space. The front nut does come out without removing the fan, but had to unclamp the intercooler hose and push it aside for access. One of the hardest parts was finding a path to get the front mount out. Had to unscrew the engine ground strap and snake it out from underneath the car. Reaching the rear mount top nut was absolutely brutal. It's underneath the turbo and you have to bloody up your hand to get the swivel socket in down there and then a magic route for the wobble extension. Wow. Took several hours, but I got it done. The car is definitely quieter now. I discovered that the old ones were so sacked that the transmission was sitting on the subframe. I'm glad I got it done, but will never do it again. I'd rather pay someone to do it.

Brave man! I don't have elbow length leather gloves to reach down behind the turbo, besides not being able to see the bolt.

I concur, let a shop do it.
