V70 ALARM - DISABLE V70-XC70

The alarm module is hidden in the passenger side fender, forward of the front wheel and behind the fender liner. Probably the battery died and leaked all over the control board.

Fuse #38 (5amp) by the driver's door is for the security module. Pull it out. Nothing else should be on that circuit.

THANKS - this a 2002 wagon with the fuses in tailgate

Pulling the fuse will not disable other things?

V70 ALARM - DISABLE V70-XC70

Your 2002 V70 has three fuse boxes; in the engine compartment, passenger compartment, and cargo area.

The fuse box in the passenger compartment can be accessed by pulling the panel off the end of the left side of the dashboard (with the door open).

Check out the owners manual for your car: http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/2002/2002_v70/02v70_08a.htm#pg112

Says that fuse 38 is for the "siren alarm" and nothing else.
