Considering purchase of 2006 V70 V70-XC70 2006

I might have the opportunity to buy a 2006 non-turbo V70 with manual transmission. The car has about 90,000 miles and the original timing belt has not been changed.

The car was sometimes serviced by a Volvo dealer so items such as oil change, brake fluid and coolant replacement probably have been performed per the Volvo maintenance schedule.

Are there specific items to be concerned about on a non-turbo 2006 V70 with manual transmission ?

Thanks,

Mike

    Mike,

I have no advice to add to what has been said already. All I can express is my envy. A 2006 V70 with only 90,000 miles and a manual too. The manual aspect is what I find most desirable. But my "Better Angels" will speak now: Congratulations on the find! I hope it proves to be a good purchase for you. Your experience gives me hope when I retire one of my two 1996 850 GLT wagons (both are manuals) I might be able to find another Volvo wagon with a manual. "Hope springs eternal."

Just for the sake of guidance, where did you find this car? I will remember when it is time for me to look for another Volvo wagon. Which I hope is years from now notwithstanding my envy/admiration.

    Hugh

Never assume anything. Brake fluid, antifreeze, PS fluid. And the engine oil is probably not synthetic, make it so. Spark plugs? Check the date on the tires.

For the engine, inspect the vacuum lines for cracks. Ditto for the cooling lines. The battery takes a beating when not driven much.

Sounds like you know this already.... change that timing belt ASAP.

Check front suspension and brake condition.
