Aw55-m66 swap V70-XC70 2005

Hey guys, looking to swap out my auto aw55 for a m66 and was wondering if i can use the parts off a sedan s60 r for my v70r. Will the drive shaft fit And all the all wheel drive work? My v70 is an 05 and the s60 is an 06, will that be a problem? Sure could use some info before purchasing the s60!!

Except for a possible problem with the computers, I don't see any problems with the swap. The S60R is AWD with a shorter prop shaft, but the connection to the transfer case should be the same.

There might be some cometic issues with the shifter in the cabin, but not a stumbling block.

The slave cylinder is inside the tranny, so that could be removed/inspected as well as the clutch plate.

Very time consuming project. A reasonable 2006 V70R with an M66 from the factory is $6-12K, and there are a few on the market place.

You can go to one of the online OE parts sources, like:

https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/

....and compare the part number of various components to see if they’re the same between the two mentioned cars.
