Synthetic oil in a non-turbo ? S40-V40 2007

Does using synthetic oil in a non- turbo motor matter ? If so why does it.

The reason I ask is that NAPA is putting conventional 5W30 on sale for $31 a case compared to $72 for synthetic.

Thanks
Greg

Yes, it matters. There are fewer contaminates to stick to PVC, rings, bearings, camshafts, etc. Less dirt = longer life. Change your oil at 3,000 or at 7,000? Which is cheaper then?

Use synthetic in every car, tractor you own.

BTW, I would use 0W30 in the S40. Easier starting when below zero :)

And Walmart has the cheapest oil around.

Yes to Full Synthetic oil. Ordinary oil has a number of bad features.
Check Wally World for better oil prices in the 5 quart jugs.
Around September, motor oil prices jumped about $5 a jug,
just after all the bigshot oil CEOs had their "business meeting".

Using synthetic will keep your PCV system cleaner than conventional oil. Synthetic also lasts longer so your oil change intervals can be longer.
