XC70 windshield washer reservoir leak repair suggestions? V70-XC70 2005

Greetings. My '05 XC70 washer reservoir has a leak; it's a narrow vertical crack, maybe 1/2" long. I am looking for repair suggestions that I can try short of the hassle of replacing the reservoir tank. I thought of silicone, waterproof caulking, such as one might use for bathroom tub surrounds, etc., but that doesn't hold the washer fluid, which seems to eat through it. It's a plastic (polypropylene?) tank, and I figure there must be something I can try. Thanks

I fixed a crack in one using a super glue type product from Permatex. Going on 3 years still holding.

    Hi,

Try a low wattage soldering iron and narrow strips of a plastic milk jug.
The jug is made of Low Density Polypropylene. Some white pill bottles are High Density Polypropylene, so it’s a judgment call, of which one, Volvo has used in the car.

You can use it a filler material to make it thicker in that area of stress.
Keep it flowing like a hot glue gun works except you are melting the two surfaces together like welding.

    Phil
