So my daughter called today and informed me that, while she was driving to work, the glass fell out of the housing on the driver's side of her car. She had noticed it was "wobbly" but didn't think anything of it. I am wondering if this is an easy replacement (can I steer her toward a pick and pull where she could simply pop the glass out of a donor and pop in into her housing), or does she have to have the entire housing replaced?

When my mirror glass fluttered on the highway, I pulled it off and glued it back in with gorilla glue.

I did not read the directions and did not wet the parts - the glue worked anyway, and has lasted a year or so.

I had some mess come out around the lens that I could not clean, but after a week or so, I could scrape it off with a fingernail.

Do not use tools on the surface of the mirror as the silver is on the FRONT of the glass unlike older mirrors that have the silver on the back of the glass. The same is true on the inside mirror.

I have had two pop out in the same fashion. You can buy a replacement glass online and replace the old one. Very easy. A lot more easy than trying to remove one from a donor or replacing the whole thing.
