Tired and faded bumpers. What to use? V70-XC70 2006

What is the newest, greatest product to bring my bumpers back to life? 2006 XC70, black bumpers and trim are tired and need an uplift. What do you all recommend?

If you do anything to the trim, consider masking off the paint,

On our teal '95 855 I painted the trim and bumpers with beige Rustoleum paint. I masked the trim by slipping two inch strips of good quality copier paper behind the trim and pulled the strips out soon after I got past each strip.

That paint lasted for ten years and only had one scratch on the top of the rear bumper.

I told my service writer and other people who noticed the trim that my wagon was the Eddie Bauer model.

Once painted, I could wax the trim with the rest of the car.

I tried several types of stuff for black plastic trim, but had trouble when I waxed the car.

I have tried several products and found that Turtle Wax Trim Restorer works best for me.

Hi Phillip,

How did you do it? By hand or with power tools?

Bill

Wipe it on, wait, wipe off excess.

Hi Alan,

What happened to your S60?
You put up two posts and never posted back about what happened?
The forum works best when people leave a resolution to their original
question or problem.

You can buff out your bumper, the operative word being "Buff".
here's one of a fleet of posts:
https://automotivefiner.com/how-to-remove-scratches-from-plastic-bumpers/
Harbor Freight sells buffing wheels and certainly there's better ones to
do the job.
Buy expensive compounds or make your own out of toothpaste or soda bicarb, etc

You might be kind enough to post back with details of what worked,
and what didn't, to help other people learn from your experience.

Cheers, Bill
