Do you have to grease the end link stops on a 2006 V70? V70-XC70 2006

Hello All,

I recently purchased a 2006 V70 FWD, non-turbo wagon with a 168,000 miles. Recently and for the first time I drove it up on ramps and climbed underneath. I have two 1996 850 GLT wagons and the owner's manual recommends greasing the the end link stops, which I do regularly everytime I change the oil. I noticed on the end link stops on the 2006 V70 were completely bone dry and there was no grease at all on the stop. I also noticed the rubber bushing on the lower portion of the control arm that comes in contact with the end link stop is of a more robust and pronounced design than those that come on the 850 lower control arms. I looked in the owner's manual for the 2006 V70 and there is not mention of the need to grease the end link stops, as there is in the 850 manual.

My questions to all is: Do you have to grease the end link stops on the 2006 V70?

Thank you to all who reply.

Hugh

No. The first puddle you go through will wash the grease off anyway.

Since no one seems to want to answer this question...

How about checking the owner's manual and the maintenance manual?

If you don't have them, they should be on line at Volvo's site.

Call a dealer?

James,

I did check the owner's manual and the service/maintenance book that accompanied it. I did call the Parts Dept of my local Volvo dealer, but you are right, I could do that, along with going on line to see if Volvo has posted this information. I confess, I'm being lazy. Mea culpa!

Hugh - I apologize for the simple reply. I could see who posted this question, I well know tht you are well acquainted with Volvo information.

If they need lubrication, they should show some sort of wear.
