Nice guess!
Since there should be four of them on a 200 series car I would listen more closely for a roaring sound or if it came to it’s driveline I would definitely say the middle support bearing.
This is front wheel drive and a bit more complicated along with the steering geometry.
The idea of tinnitus was a nice thought too, BB,
Mine comes late in the day or nighttime after exposure of wind into my hearing aids or just loud noise can trigger it.
But then it’s a low roar that drowns or diminishes everything. Really irritating to my wife as it covers her frequencies that I had better heard!
Even with that, I have tons of “want to be doctors” give out testing results for other stuff I have going on that are “inconclusive.” Let’s all hide and do the wait and see!

Now, I didn’t read any dialogue from him to get a diagnosis.
I do think one of those have to come in front of the other to get results.
The last I knew the wheels should have to be turning and we didn’t even get that.
Since he provided zip, he is getting nothing helpful.
The whole thing about “claiming to be” is ok but knowing a tiny bit more will be making the thread more personable.
The States location tells us about weathering of a vehicle over the years.
If the car was moving it might be like a wind going by a piece of Swiss cheese, since the car was made near there! 🤭
