Oil Change Kits for Volvo XC70 V70-XC70

Hello All: I recently purchased a 2012 Volvo XC70 T6 with 97K Miles. I want to do an oil change, when the car reaches 100K. I have been looking on line a saw you can buy kits with all of the required oils and parts for the oil change. From reading on line, Volvo installs only synthetic oil at the factory. Who (companies) provides the most economical Volvo oil change kit for XC70s? I know Volvo recommends Castrol Edger Syn. I have seen others recommends Mobil 1 and Ravenol Syn. In the future, I plan on changing my oil every 5K. Look forward to everyones replies. Thanks

There are oil changes and there maintenance services.

Who did you buy the car from?

When was the last time the car was serviced by a Volvo shop.

My shop does an inspection for one hour's labor and they can tell uou if an ant farted in the trunk.

Go to a dealer and ask the service manager why you should have them service your car. Ask to see a copy of their service report that they do when you get their oul change.

Your call, but synthetic oil will go much further than 5k between oil changes. 5k is fine for conventional or if you drive only 5k in a year or two. Synthetic will go even more than 10k between changes before it starts to break down. The filter is the real reason to change it at 10k. I run car my 2017 10k between oil and filter changes. No issues. Uses no oil at 100k.

Filter - Volvo preferred

Will I buy another Volvo??? We'll see....
