Trip computer display error? C70

I have a '98 C70 HPT with the trip computer. I have noticed lately that when I turn the knob to the other functions, I occasionally get a reading across the display of, "disc". I don't know what it means and neither does the dealer. It just dominates the display and stays on for a few seconds.
Any ideas from anyone?
Thanks.

That message stands for Disconnected, and it is displayed when you change setting, signal is lost so the computer thinks you are "DISC". Try changing the knob slower or having it replaced.

I have the same car which started having the same problem.
About 2 weeks later the battery failed to start the car. At which point I replaced the battery.
The problem has not appeared since.
(The Dealer recommended purchasing a battery from somewhere else, because if Volvo replaced it (they pay 25% of the cost in year 4) the warranty for the battery would end when the car's warranty expires later this year. It was also cheaper)

I think it stands for "Disconnected". The switch is bewteen
contact settings or the computer "thinks" it is. Sometimes,
you can turn it slowly and cause this.
