Bought the car. 850 1995

Ok,

Thanks for all the information and feedback, here and emails, that you guys provided. After passing on the 855t I mentioned here I reconsidered and bought it Saturday. No regrets. This is a great car! I bought it knowing the evaporator might need replacement within a year or two but as I had a copy of all the service records and the thing looked and drove so darned good I just accepted that I might face a pricey repair and wrote the check.

I do have a question (I'm sure I'll have many more) about coolant. The manual recommends only Volvo antifreeze. Is this gospel? Opinions? I'll be changing oil this weekend and converting to synthetic. Good thread about the flush. The next item will be the upper engine mount bushing. I haven't decided between IPD or stock.

Thanks,
Erwin in Memphis

I'd use Volvo coolant. You only need a gallon (I think) and,
yep, its $20 but not a big jump over the local stuff at the
store (and your time is worth much more, anyway). Plus, its
been tested over time against Volvos engine alloys.

I'd also (and did) go with the OEM upper mount.
