Service light reset

Don't know if anyone here needs this info but saw it in the paper recently.
I believe this applies to late model FWD.
To reset service light:
Turn ignition key to position 1
Hold down trip reset
While holding down, turn ignition to position 2, sevice light should be flashing.
Release trip meter in 5 seconds
May be a buzz and light should reset.

Service light reset .......................'99 on up only

That only applies to '99 on up cars, not the older ones.
