I lost power to my car and need to reactivate the stereo. Bought the car used. Guy did not give me the code. How do I get the radio code? Can ANY volvo dealer index it from the vin#?
Please help!

    The security code can be obtained from the VIN provided that the radio is the original one installed when the car was new. If the radio has been replaced at any time they will have to obtain the security code from the radio which will involve removing it from the car. I just went through this exercise with my 850R in which the radio had been replaced in 1998.

    You must go to your Volvo dealer, with your car, and they can look up the security code. Most dealers will not tell you over the phone, for obvious reasons.
