I have a trouble code for the charcoal cannister. Does anyone have a part no. and an idea where it is. Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

Thanks

It is by the front left tire. I think you cans ee the pump
that purges it just looking under the car.

I recall some other posts here indicating that when there is
trouble in this area the dealers often replace several parts
to fix the problem. I'm sorry I don't recall the details.
You might search the archives (it was in the last month or two).

thanks ray,
i have posted here before about this, problem is i no longer trust dealer. my s70 is still in warranty, but the vapor recovery system and components are not covered. i had (out of pocket expense) the ecu replaced approx. a week before the check engine light came on with a trouble code for the char. cannister. i'll replace myself and hope that fixes problem. not soliciting sympathy, bu the engineering team of which i was a part of on a hotel/convention center project here in dallas was stopped several weeks after 9-11. the only time i use car is for going to bank, store etc., and i can't afford to have another 500 dollar expense.

Good luck with this. By the way, in California all emission
devices must be covered for 100K miles (so here, I would expect
the dealer to fix for free). Not sure about Texas, the owners
manual lists extended warranties for emission devices by state.
Might be worth a look.
