Here is a new one (for me). Car won't crank properly (near stalls, sometimes near catching) and will not start, or only start after minutes of trying. Engine trouble light then comes on, sometimes DSA light comes on.
Apparent reason is magnetic interference that throws a crankshaft position censor off. (replacing the sensor brought no help, warmer weather helps a bit)
Service bulletin just came out, there is a metal shield to install as the fix, but no shields available in North America. Backorder.

So, if you try to start and it just doesn't sound right and does not fire up, consider this as the possible cause.

I definitely have had this problem several times. The car even stalled out on me and just shut off.

I had this, or at least similar, problem a couple times. Sounded like the engine was flooded. Dealer said there was a fuel injection fix, which they did. Haven't had problem since.
