Computer Message S80 2000

I am getting a computer message that says "Side Marker light out" or words to this effect. But none of the lights are out. This is an intermittent problem that does not seem to have a pattern. Anyone else get these annoying messages?

    I have had this same issue. Volvos, begiining with the S70, have a chronic problem with intermittent front and side lamp socket contacts. Also, the lamp current sensor in the S80 body computer is also designed to be sensitive to varaitions in bulb current. A bulb can be working but still be detected as faulty. Solution: change the bulb and clean the socket contacts with very fine sanding cloth.
