Error 2 on my CD stacker C70

I purchased a 1998 C70 last weekend, and I absolutely love it. However, I can't get the 3 Disc CD Stacker to work. Everytime I insert the stacker, following the instructions on the cover, I get an "error 2" message. My owner's manual does not refer to this error. Can anyone help? Hopefully, it is just something stupid on my part. Thanks.

    I have had this problem 3 times in the last couple months. I received the error when I was attemping to change to another disc in the 3disc changer. After which I can only eject the maganize with one disc remaining the the unit.

    To fix this I remove to two discs in the magazine, and insert the magazine with a little more force into the deck than I would normally. This causes the mechanism the maganize sits in (the part that comes out and says DO NOT TOUCH) to be pushed into the unit a couple of millimeters. Be sure not to push it in for too long (push for <1sec), because if this works the unit will try to extend the mechanism.

    So, if this works, the mechanism extends and loads the remaining disc back into the maganize. When it retracts back into the deck, you can then eject it, and load your other discs back in.

      With regards to my earlier post....

      When you push the maganize into the deck, it's the magazine that will push about 2mm into the deck, not the mechanism around it.

    I had a similar problem with my 98 C70. The dealer ended up replacing the stereo under warranty with a new stereo (SC900). Actually the first time the dealer reset the unit (not sure how they did it) and it worked for a few days, but ultimately the problem reappeared. Ever since the unit has been replaced, no problems.

      If you do go ther replace route (perhaps you are still under warranty) the SC901 is a unit with more function that shipped in at lease the 2000 C70. It uses pro logic on FM as well as CD, sound is stunning. Don't forget to look at the owners manual (radion section is to rear I think) for the equilizer functions on this unit.

      Congrats on your car. The 98 has a simpler motronic system for the engine/tranny, different cam grind that gives more high end, and different intake runner that favors higher end RMPS. The 99-> use fly by wire throttle with new engin mgmt system.

      May want to see that some recall campaigns were done to the car (minors stuff really, ligts and such) which a dealer can look up.
