S70 SRS Codes... S70 1998

I just had a SRS code of 241 and 242 read by the computer. Does anyone know what these codes mean? How can I fix them? Thanks. Jim B.

Both are for the R side seat belt tensioner (ones "opened circuit", the other's "shorted circuit"). Remove the "B pillar" cover and check the connector, otherwise it may need to be replaced. Either way, I don't think that you can reset the light yourself as I'm fairly sure you'll need to have Volvos VST (dealer) do that.

I pulled the B Pillar plastic off and noticed that the connector to the seatbelt retractor "device" was disconnected. I reconnected it (very tight, not lots of spare wiggle room) and secured it with a twist tie. Of course, the SRS light is still on and I'll probably have the dealer attempt to extinguish. Is there any OBD-II reader that can clear this code? Thanks. Jim B.
