    Is this an academic question? For what car? Finding the answer would require some dynamic testing under controlled conditions.

    But I think a good starting guess would be 35 mph.

      you basically have to find the speed that minimizes wind resistance, aerodynamic drag, and rolling resistance of the tires. having said that, i have no clue what the drag coefficient of the 850 body is. if we started with that info, then we could do some integrals... anybody?

        All the factors you mention are a minimum at *zero* speed!!! What has to be balanced with those is energy-conversion efficiency of the engine and drivetrain. The engine/drivetrain is generally more efficient at high speeds (and high gears), but the [velocity]**3 drag quickly overtakes (especially over 50 mph), and the total system efficiency will maximize at some point in between.
