Sunroof Stops with inches to go 850 1996

My sunroof opens until there's about 2 inches, then it stops. But I can open it all the way by releasing the switch and pressing it again. Is this normal, or is there a simple way to fix it? Thanks!

My 98 S70 does this. My wifes 95 855 does not. The predefined
position it goes to minimizes wind noise (not sure by
how much, though).

Bill this is normal behavior. I don't have my manual at hand but I think the first stop is quieter than fully retracted.

That's what it's supposed to do! 850 1996

It's designed to do this to minimize the noise and buffeting with the sunroof open. It should be described in the owner's manual.

Thanks all. Next time I'll read the manual :(

I had a '95 that didn't do that. The bonus for reading the manual is that I discovered it's a "one touch" control. O.K., two touch if you want to go beyond the "comfort setting".
