Turn Signal / Hazard Relays V70-XC70 1998

My bride calls me today to tell me that the turn signals and the hazards are not flashing. I presume it is the relay.

As it is late and getting later, and dark and getting darker, can someone tell me where the relay or relays are? Than I can get a new one on my way to work today. (BTW the way to work takes my past RawBear every morning. I've been wondering about the collection of Volvos sitting in the lot. After some recent posts, I will definitely stop by and say hi.)

As always, thanks for everyone's help.

Bill

    Turn Signal / Hazard Relays V70-XC70 1998

The usual cause of turnsignal failure in X70 car is the hazard switch.

Is repairing the hazard assy a DIYer or better to let someone who tends NOT to disassemble things with vice grips and the point end of the screw driver do it?

      Thanks,

        This is a recall/warranty fix on 1998-99 V70s.

The recall is for the front bulbs and sockets ONLY. If the signals and hazard don't flash at all, suspect the hazard switch. It contains the relay. 2 Minute fix. Press the 2 vertical tabs on the radio. They will pop out. Grasp the tabs and pull radio out of dash, but leave it conected. Reach in through the radio oppening and push the flasher relay out toward you. Now slip the radio back in, unplug the hazard switch/relay, plug the new one back in, slide it back in to the dash. Note, the signals will probably start working as soon as you touch the relay from back side.
