Has anyone tried Goodyear Aquatreads on their S-70? Can you recommend them? I was at the new Just Tires store this weekend and liked the way they looked and the deal. MH

I use these as a summer tire although some people run them all winter. They got a large centre ring and two other slightly thiner rings symmetrically placed for water displacement. The rest of the tread is pretty much running the opposite direction to those rings (out to the sides). Probably pretty good in sand I would think if you ever got yourself into that situation. Made in Italy I see written on it.

The Goodyear Aquatreds are "T" speed rated tires. Your S70 came with higher speed rated "H" or "V" tires. Unless you are looking for softer, less responsive handling, the Aquatreds are probably not what you want. Dunlop SP Sport A2 seems to be a popular tire for this vehicle, they are fairly inexpensive and "H" speed rated.

I have Goodyear Eagle F1s on my S70 T5M. They have a similar tread design to the Aquatreads but are Z rated. I like these tires alot but put Pilot Alpine Snow tires on all corners from November to April.

Are you talking about the Goodyear Aquatread 3 ? ... If so, stay away ! ... My friend installed a set on his 1987 Toyota Corolla LE last Friday afternoon, and returned them back to the Goodyear tire shop yesterday ( Sunday ) afternoon. Basically, it is not as good as they claimed they are in the brochure. My friend instead went for the Yokohama Avid H4 ( Better tire and cheaper ).

Personally, I would NEVER buy Goodyear tires, as I had bad experiences with them. On my previous Pontiac, it came with a set of Goodyear Eagle GT+4. After a few years, I changed to a set of Eagle GA. Finally, during the last 3 years of ownership, I was running a set of Pirelli P300. Out of those 3 sets of tires, I found the Pirelli to be the best tires ( considering the way I drive my car ).

Another friend of mine has a Y2K Dodge Neon LX Sport, which came with Goodyear Eagle LS. He got angry with its performance that he now have a set of Toyo Proxes high-performance tires on his Neon instead.
