Interior Lights???.... 850 1995

Hi gang,

I have just become the proud owner of a 95 850 turbo. I love the way it performs but of course like every used car, It has its little problems that i am working on.

RIGHT NOW the "lights" on my automatic gear shift don't elluminate. Its easy to see in the daylight, but at night, when i shift from Park to Drive, none of the symbols light up.

Does anyone have the solution?

Thanks in advance....

Tony

    Interior Lights???.... 850 1995

This is easy, took me about an hour this weekend.

Got the bulb from the local dealer, $8.00. (not just a bulb, has a plastic connector, too)

Remove the center console as the directions on Volvospeed indicate. Have a few tips that will help, though.

    1. Be sure to disconnect the neg. term on your battery first.
    2. Definitely remove the ashtray, too.
    3. I have an auto tranny, so best to set the parking brake and put it in Drive, gets the lever far enough back so as to easily remove the whole console.
Remember that this is what the Shiftlock Override button is for.
    4. Do the removal from the drivers seat, I needed to twist a bit while pulling out the console, easiest from drivers side.

While I was in there I gave everything a vacuuming, cleaning, too. You won't believe what you are going to find under there.

    Good luck.
