Possible to Shutoff passenger side Airbag. 850

Board,
Just wondering if anyone has found a switch or other item to shutoff the airbag for the passenger seat (something similar to pickup truck airbags?). We were looking to buy a used 3rd seat for our wagon but have found that task difficult.
Thanks
Jeff

It can be done IF you're able to purchase a special Volvo tool known as an airbag test resistor (used for testing the SRS wiring with the airbag dissconnected), which plugs into the plug that's now connected to your airbag (airbag is then disconnected w/o a SRS light) but if the ignition is ever on w/o either that resistor or the airbag hooked up, it'll set a code and light.
Now, could you switch it between the resistor and airbag with a toggle switch, yes.....IF you knew what you're doing and you'ld have to do it yourself too as I highly doubt any techs, dealerships or shops anywhere would be willing to do it for you due to the major liability issues involved.
