fan noise after engine turned off 850 1995

It's really humid today. It's been raining a lot and the temperature is 15 deg C (59F). I just drove approx 25 km (about 15 miles) mostly on the autoroute at approx 100 km/hr (61 mph). I stopped for about 5 minutes to pick up hubby and a friend and drove back home. I turned off the engine and it is still making a noise like a fan. We looked under the hood and coudln't see anything, but we're not very experienced with under hood stuff. We could feel air moving. The hood was cool to the touch. In fact, it promptly fogged over when I drove into the parking garage. The windows all fogged up too, even though one of them was open. What's going on? I just checked and it has stopped, so I guess my car isn't going to blow up.

fan noise after engine turned off 850 1997

I recently had the same thing happen on a day when it was 98 here. I assume it would stop when it was cool enough and in fact it did. Only problem was it must have ran for a bit as my battery was dead the next morning.

Normally the fan on an 850 will run a bit after you park your car to cool the engine down. But by a bit I mean less than one minute. If it goes on for a while, a relay may be faulty.
