    850's should NOT have a flame trap! 850 1996

Turbo'd 850's never had one. A TSB was sent out to remove flame traps from ALL 850's. Take it out and throw it away. BTW if one changed one's oil on time and used good oil, even if the engine did have a flame trap, it should never get plugged. I have had one in the same B230 engine for over 700,000 miles. No flame traps for 850's.

I believe only normally aspirated engines have the flame trap. Turbos don't. One less thing to worry about in your case.

Actually, that's not such great news. We're trying to deal with oily smoke at the tailpipe, and we'd like to find a cause other than worn rings or turbo shaft oil seals. Plus we're getting the CE light on. A PCV problem, on the other hand, would be far cheaper to repair...and possibly explain the CE light if the emissions have gotten too far out of spec.
