shiftlock adjustment? '94 850T automatic 850 1994

Is there an adjustment for the shiftlock? The shifter will not move from the 'Park' position unless the shiftlock overrride switch is pressed. Could it be the cable is misadjusted, or is there a sensor switch that may have failed or needs adjustment? Once out of 'Park', the shifter seems to function as normal. Thanks in advance.

Its an easy and inexpensive fix. The microswitch can be purchased for under $10 from

    http://WWW.NEWANDUSEDVOLVOPARTS.COM/

Complete instructions for removal and replacement can be found at

The entire job took me 40 minutes.

Had the same thing happem to my 94 850t. It was fixed under warranty, apparently there is a switch that breaks. You have to disassemble the console to get to it, pain in the ass!
Too bad it can't be removed!
