antiaesthetics weldments S40-V40

Today i've take a look on my car ( v40 19d)and i've noticed some antiaesthetics weldments based on the doors windows supports, on rear doors and so on. this weldments are hidden when the doors are closed but very much in view when the doors are open.
Anyone has an idea about this weldments ?
Is possible that a prestige brand doesn't put care on this particulars?

Sorry for my poor english.

Fabio

Fabio, my 940 has ugly (unsightly, antiaesthetic) raised welding, but my S70 does not. The doors to my 940 and your V40 were made in two pieces then welded together. Screws would look better, but in time will begin squeaking. The welded joints are much stronger and won't squeak.

The S/V40 design is based on a joint program between Volvo and Mitsubishi.

    Ciao.

David, I think so too, however I do not understand why the doors do not come stamped in an only piece as they make many other automotive houses.

      ciao

      Grazie/thanks

I think Volvo needed to find a way to reduce cost. A two-part door can be made from smaller pieces of metal, so the the S/V40 is more affordable.

Where in Italia do you live? My daughter studied in Firenze for a year, and I visted last spring. Didn't have enough time to tour everywhere; we visited Roma, Firenze, Venezia, Padua, Balogna, Pisa, Livorno, some wonderful countryside, and did a little off-roading (in a Passat!) near Monterossa al Mare. The pavement ran out, then the road turned to a footpath. The road was everywhere too narrow to turn the car around.

Yep, of all things in life THAT upsets me greatly! I can hardly sleep any more just thinking about it. I'll call my lawyer ASAP as there must be a way to sue ;)

I have not understood if you are joking or not. However i'll sleep quiet tonight even if I am paying 26.000 U.S. dollars something that is not worth them.
