Occasional 'sputter' at idle ? S70 1998

I've had this problem from day-1 but it is very hard to reproduce. On occasion, just after stopping at a light or stop sign, the engine will "sputter" for about a second, like it's out of gas or about to stall. It quickly recovers and purs like a kitten from then on. Again, hard to find any common trait to the event. Any ideas ?

Francis....

GLT models had this issue. The dealer
should know about the bulletins and should update the ECU software.

She's going to the dealer next week for an "Oil-Lub-n-filter" and I told them about the bulletin. They responded with their usual "what do you know moron" attitude of "it probabely does not apply to your car" but at least I have them looking into it. She falls off warranty in October this year so I need to have everything looked at carefully. I may actually buy an extended warranty in a couple of months...... don't know..'

Francis.... 98 S70 T5se, Bright Red, loads of fun.....

There was an ECU upgrade for your car that might help. There's a SB (or TNN) about reflashing the ECU with a laptop designed for that purpose only and only a dealer can do it. The SB or TNNs titled something like "Motronic 4.4 upgrade".
Call your local dealer for an appointment but mention this as it's been a while since most have needed that and people might have forgotten about it by now. I believe that it was a campaign years ago.
