Anyone know of a good source (online or other) to get an ABS controller. My local dealer quoted $416. Is there a class action suit on this ? It seems counter intuitive to Volvo's safety credibility for so many of these things to go bad.

same problem here on my car. Just clocked 50760miles and the ABS-controller failed. Not covered under the extended warranty. $ 575.- is the latest I heard from my dealer.

I had a 740 GLE for 10+ years with no problems at all and that was the reason to buy this certified V70 GLT. On my way home from picking up my car it became engulfed in a gigantic blue smoke cloud. Cracked turbo. Volvo of Tampa replaced turbo. I should have taken this as a red flag and returned the car. But now after 8 trips to the dealer I am giving up on Volvo. (It's a POS...piece of s**t.)

According to the previous service records of my "new to me" '96 850 Turbo, the ABS control module (p/# 8602266-2) was replaced 9-18-01, and cost $530.76 with a $50 core charge for a net cost of $480.76. Tack on 1.5 hours charged labor for another $119, and that brought it up to a total cost of $600.61. Glad I didn't have to pay it!
