High gloss finish. 850

Hi all,

I own a 1995 T5 with 98000 miles on it.The paint work is in good condition but has slight circular scratches from years of washing as all cars get.I was wondering what people use to get a real deep high gloss shine to their bricks. Ive used turtle wax polish that comes in a tin but the finish is not that good.

Any help would be greatly appreciated especially in this cruising weather!!!

I have one word for you--Zymol.

It does requires a fair amount of practice, however, to get the application technique down.

The shine is very natural looking, especially if you use their estate glazes which contain up to 61% carnauba. Carnauba wax produces a warm and clear finish that increases with each application. It is not, however, particularly long lasting. So plan to rewax every 2-3 months.

If the finish is really damaged, then use Klasse products for restoration. But, always apply carnauba as the final coat.

Finally, only HAND WASH with cool water and special auto wash. And dry the car after washing to avoid spotting and dulling.

    ZAINO all the way! 850

Have to agree with GNB here..

Used ZAINO products on my cars and it's brilliant!

    Get some Z2, Z5, Z6 and ZFX. Don't forget a claybar too..

The shine is incredible, especially if you apply a few coats. The Zaino products actually benefit from several coats, unlike normal waxes.

I agree. Used to use Mcguire but the shine n gloss didn't seem to last nearly as long. However, Zaino is available only through mailorder only so those interested should go to their website. Look up Zaino Brothers in Yahoo and you'll find it.

If your car has light scratches, get McGuire cleaner wax and do that first followed by Zaino products. Note, cleaner was will rub some paint off so don't get too excited when you see color on your towel. Make sure cleaner wax is all buffed off before you apply other stuff.

Have fun but it'll look good after a few hours.

Get a Porter Cable 6" Random Orbital sander/polisher and then go to griotsgarage.com and get their orange foam polishing pad and # 3 polish. In fact, Griot's will sell you a kit with the orbital polisher.

Lowe's sell the Porter Cable Orbital Polisher/Sander for about $109.

Make certin you get a FOAM polishing pad for the orbital polisher as it won't put swirl marks on your paint.

Then get some Zaino's polish- really good stuff for a high gloss show car finish( go to Zaino's website).

I've used Zaino's products and they are professional showcar quality.

I found out about this stuff on the site I go to for my Toyota Sequoia - this is the hot stuff for the exterior finish.

First of of all, don't use Turtle Wax...basically junk, as you discovered. You need to first polish the paint, and then wax/seal it. Try either the 3-M polish or Mcguires polish, I have used both with good results. You also need an orbitol buffer, first polish the paint, this will remove scratches (minor, not deep ones they require more aggresive polish) and also increase the gloss. Then apply the wax. Your best place to get the supplies and good advice is your local auto paint supply store. It is a good afternoon's work, but you should see a differance. Have Fun.

meguires scratch x, seems to work well, i have also use their clear coat cleaner and polish. The polish is hard to apply but does a really nice job. My car had swirles like yours before the scratch x.
