I have read codes before and now following the procedure in each socket, i am unable to get the lite to flash anything, even after pressing the button for a second. The check engine lite in the dash does not lite when you turn the key to the "on" position.(is it suppose to?) On a trip last weekend the check engine lite did come on for a short time, only to go off after a stop. The car is running rough on idle, hestitates on acceleration, and seems to be low powered at high speed, so i would expect to see something to show up. New fuel pump installed within 3 months, car ran fine after that. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor installed with no change. Did find a collapsed vacuum hose, replaced and it ran good for a while. Now symptoms are back and i am trying to locate all vacuum lines and connections. Thanks for any help/suggestions anyone can provide, phil

found out by disassembling the "A" code box that there was corrosion on the contact points of the button contact inside, cleaned that up and was able to retrieve codes - what is meant by longterm fuel mixture too weak at idle,outside control range, too weak at partial load, and map sensor siganl absent or faulty? Are these do it yourself kinds of things.
