How can I tell if my rotors are warped?

I changed my own brake pads abaout 6 months ago and recently there's been a very slight rythmic grind coming from the drivers side wheel-well when I depress the brakes and after I let my foot off it continues until i reach a high enough speed to where it seems to stop by itself. There is also an irregular "clunk" that happens whilst braking and turning on occasion. The only thing I can think of is that my discs are warped or something. I am probably wrong here but maybe you could shed some light?

Thanks you guys are THE BEST!!!!!!!!

A grinding sound usually indicates a worn brake pad. If you have alloy wheels, look at your rotors...are they scored (i.e., grooved) more deeply than usual?

You'd feel a warped rotor as a pulse when you step on your brakes....in your steering wheel if front brakes, and pedal only if rear brakes. The faster you're going the more frequent the pulse. At highway speeds, it can feel like a shudder....very uncomfortable.

A recent post contained a link to a site that indicated 'warping' may actually a built-up high spot on the rotor as opposed to an out-of-true rotor. (http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/warped_rotors_myth.htm) Whatever, the above still applies.
