Replacement tires S80 1999

I am getting ready to replace the tires on my 99 S80 T6. The mileage is 56k. I have been reading posts discussing replacement tire recommendations but they are all discussing 17in tires. My vehicle's original equiptment is Micheln 225/55 R16 (MXM4) Pilot HX. Shouldn't I be replacing with original size? What should I expect to pay?

    Replacement tires S80 1999

I have a 2001 S80 T6. My car has the same tires as yours. I bought a real spare tire and Mag Wheel. The tire cost around $150.00 mounted, balanced, stemmed, and taxed. It took about 3 weeks to arrive from Michigan ! I live in Virginia.

I am also in the market for tires in the next 10-15K miles. (I drive alot for work and fun). I am leaning towards the same again as the overall performance has been very good. I agree that the wet handling is not a 10 and I find the ride a little noisy and bumpy but think that I am being picky and need to remember that this is a sports oriented car and tire verses a big cushy ride (read Caddy).

Let me know what you decide...

    Replacement tires S80 1999

I have 50,000 miles on my 1999 S80. I have the same Michelin Tires as you. I don't like the tires for winter or wet driving. I looked at Tirerack.com and it appears the highest rated all weather tire is the Brigestone (Firestone) Potenza RE950 with UNI-T AQII size 225/55hr16. Has anyone had experience with this tire.
