Looking at buying a new or lease-return 2001-2002 V70. What are the specific differences between the low and high pressure turbo motors?

V70 2.4 T 197 HP @ 6000 RPM AND 210 FT/LBS TORQUE @ 1800-5000 RPM
V70 T5 247 HP @ 5200 RPM AND 243 FT/LBS TORQUE @ 2400-5200 RPM
ALSO COMPRESSION RATIOS : 2.4T 9.0:1, T5 8.5:1

-- FIGURES ARE FOR 2002 V70 ENGINES AND (I BELIEVE) ARE SAME FOR 2001 V70

Among other things, lined cylinder walls, sodium filled valves, crown geometry pistons, forged cranks...

2.4L is glt models, light pressured turbo ~6psi (donno if that still applies for the new glt engine)

t5 is 2.3L, high pressured turbo (9.6 psi in 1995,96 up to 10+ psi by the end of the 2000, donno what new one is at), internals are beefed up, and the sidewalls of the engine thicker (as displacement indicates) to provide better heat dissipation from the extra boost.

the new 2001/2 volvo t5 (p2 platform) has 11.7 psi boost for 247 hp inline-5
