GLT vs. T-5 vs. T-5R colors 850

Hi. I searched the archives for an answer to the following question, but couldn't find it:

My understanding regarding color availability for the various types of 96 and 97 850's is as follows:

1) GLT's: "unlimited" (meaning probably 10-15 colors available)
2) T-5's: Same color availability as GLT's
3) T-5R's: limited to bright red, black, white, or yellow.

Could someone please tell me if my understanding is correct? Thanks.

(The reason for my question is that my favorite color for the 850 is a tan/very-light-gold that I believe is called champagne, and I'd like to confirm that they made the 96 and 97 GLT's and T-5's in this color.)

T-5Rs were built (in Belgium) only as 1995 models - I believe the build months were 7/94 to 5/95 or something like that. All were black or yellow with a few pre-production units in pearl white, some of which made it to dealers as regular inventory. As I've mentioned elsewhere, if you think your full-fledged production 850 has some bugs, how'd you like to get stuck with a pre-prod model??!! BTW the T-5R and R have 237 hp max not 240 hp...but who could tell?

P.E- you're a little off base here; that "champagne" or light-gold color was not available in 96 or 97. I believe you may have to look at the 94-95. I could be wrong, but from the shape of the back and the body trim, all the "champagne" color cars I see don't look like mine(and I have a 97-854-T5). Also, they were no T5-Rs in 96 or 97(they are Rs)---- only 1995. But, if that COLOR is your main objective, look at the 93-95 850s for it. good luck, BD
